GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 589570
cannot transfer podcasts to ipod
Last modified: 2009-10-05 18:20:04 UTC
I have an ipod nano 4g. When I drag or sync podcasts to it a playlist appears in banshee but the podcasts are not actually transferred to the device. There seems to be no easy way around this problem for podcasts that don't show up in the main library. At the moment no podcast is tranferable. they tranferred fine in rhythmbox/.
Would that be the same issue as in bug 434237 ? It seems to indicate that podcasts are transferred to the iPod, but appear in the music section and not in the podcast section.
No, they do not show up anywhere on the ipod. If you try to play them from within banshee, you get a missing track sign. So while banshee indicates the podcasts have been transferred they do not seem to appear anywhere on the ipod.
Let me make a slight correction: the podcasts are physically present on the ipod, but do not appear in its music or podcast libraries. It used to work well in version 1.0- 1.3. does no one else have this issue? it is not at all the same issue as bug 434237.
same issue in 1.4x versions. apparently this is a very old problem: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/banshee/+bug/140489
Thanks for the bug report. This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but please feel free to report any further bugs you find. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 434237 ***
Ah sorry, skimmed too fast and missed the discussion of how this isn't a dupe. Can you explain it further? It still sounds like one to me. I'm about to update the patch(es) listed there; you should try them and see if they fix your problem.
