GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 589438
gnome voice control hangs on calibration
Last modified: 2009-07-23 08:50:13 UTC
Please describe the problem: When I click "start" on the taskbar applet, gnome-voice control goes initializing > calibration, and just hangs there. It never goes into the final step of 'ready'. Steps to reproduce: 1. Using Linux Mint Gloria (7), kernel 2.2.28, AMD Dual Core RM-70 processor 2. Install gnome-voice-control through Synaptic 3. Install dependencies listed on the Gnome Voice Control homepage (pocketsphinx, gstreamer, and accessibility development libraries). 4. Add 'gnome voice control' to taskbar (via add to panel function in right click menu). 5. Click on the 'Idle' icon in the taskbar, then click 'start'. Actual results: The 'Idle' icon changes to 'Initializing' then 'Calibration'. It stays in 'calibration' indefinitely. Expected results: I expect it to go initializing > calibration > ready, and then be able to actually use voice commands to control the desktop environment and programs. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: I believe the version installed through Synaptic is 0.2. I know there are newer versions, but I'm not able to install them. When I try to install 0.3, by downloading it from GVC homepage, the Debian package installer says its not compatible with a 64 bit system.
Thanks for your bug report. This issue was fixed in pocketsphinx trunk/gnome-voice-control trunk. Unfortunately we don't have any packages for it yet. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 474376 ***
