GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 588715
tabs open in random directories
Last modified: 2009-07-24 22:18:25 UTC
Please describe the problem: In an attempt to make gnome-terminal more useful, current working directory detection has gone to far. Certain commands will put the user in an essentially random directory. Steps to reproduce: 1. Launch a long running find command in one tab. For example: find / -name foo 2. Open a new tab. 3. Observe that the new tab opened in whatever random directory find was searching when the tab was created. Actual results: Random $PWD. Expected results: Same $PWD as the original tab. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information:
