GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 587380
Selecting the paper format does not work
Last modified: 2012-04-20 04:33:40 UTC
Please describe the problem: My system: openSUSE 11.1 Windows XP SP3 GIMP 2.6.6 HP Photosmart D5160 I'm using the german version of GIMP, so I'll write the german names of buttons and similar stuff. The guessed english name will be in brackets. GIMP does not remember which type of paper I've set to print on. Steps to reproduce: Selecting the type of paper using the menu "Datei" (File) then "Seite einrichten" (configure page), GIMP does not save the changes if I'm selecting the photo papersize for my printer. GIMP also looses the setting, if I'm setting the paper size directly in the printing dialog. Actual results: Actually my printer refuses to print. Normally the rpinter works fine! Expected results: Printing on the photo paper. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: If you need more information, tell me!
You are using openSUSE 11.1 on Windows XP SP3 or the other way around? Looks like a duplicate of bug #505123 or bug #546083. Please check the GTK+ component if you have problems to print.
Yeah looks like bug #505123 I'm using Windows XP and openSUSE 11.1. Having a dualboot system with both operating systems installed. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 505123 ***
Hmm thought twice about that (I know, should have done that first). At all this bug is different from bug #505123 because I'm also experiencing problems on Linux. bug #505123 is for Windows only.
Please try GIMP 2.7.4 and report back, we won't fix 2.6 bugs any longer.
Could you please try to reproduce problem with GIMP 2.7.4 or later version and update the bug report with your findings, tia.
Please feel free to reopen this bug if the problem still occurs with a newer version of GIMP.
