Description jeremy 2009-06-27 23:31:51 UTC
The Android-based G1 does not support arbitrary video formats, so videos (notably .avi files) need to be transcoded to play. At present this is a tedious manual affair. Banshee is currently no help because dragging a video to the device appears to work, but it 1) copies the file verbatim, which generally isn't playable, and 2) puts it under Music/ rather than in the appropriate Video/ directory.

I filed this specifically pertaining to the G1 since that's the device I've observed this on and care about, but this seems to be a general issue.

This is bug 532426

Looks very similar to bug 534832

I'm closing this as a duplicate of bug 532426, feel free to open a new bug for the second issue if bug 534832 is not the same.

In the future, please file one bug report per issue, makes much easier for developers to track them. Thanks!

Correct on both counts.
