GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 586253
Unread mail count is wrongly displayed in certain folders
Last modified: 2010-03-26 17:25:34 UTC
Please describe the problem: I have a folder which mail from a mailing list is sent to. At times, the sidebar will display the folder in bold with an unread count of 1 in brackets even though there are no unread messages in that folder. This continues even if I set it to show only unread mail. The number at the top of the sidebar is correctly displayed. Only the folder is displayed wrong. Occasionally I can make it display the right number by marking a message in the folder 'unread' and then marking it 'read' again. I have attached a screenshot showing the problem. Steps to reproduce: 1. Receive mail from POP account. 2. Read every email by going through it one by one until I reach the end. Actual results: Folder in sidebar's tree shows wrong unread count. This is always 1 when it should be 0, it is never a higher number. Expected results: Folder in sidebar tree should show 0 unread and not be bold. Does this happen every time? No, it happens some times, but I have been unable to reliably reproduce it. Other information:
Created attachment 136915 [details] A screenshot describing the problem. I have since rearranged the folders so that they are children of the Inbox folder but the problem still persists. In either case, "Mark Messages As Read" doesn't help.
I've the exact problem in Evolution 2.26.1 (Ubuntu 9.4).
