Description Eemil Lagerspetz 2009-06-01 14:07:33 UTC
Please describe the problem:
For a darker theme, the dark blue link colour is hard to see. Tomboy link colour as well as title colour and some others are hard-coded in NoteTag.cs. The yellow highlight colour makes white text unreadable.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Use any dark theme in GNOME, with a light link colour.
2. Make a link in tomboy and notice that the link colour is different.

Actual results:
link colour is different.

Expected results:
link colour is set according to GNOME theme.

Does this happen every time?
yes

Other information:
My workaround was to replace Blue with LightBlue in NoteTag.cs, and recompile. Obviously, this breaks themes with a light background color.

Yeah, this sucks, let's fix.

The highlighting part of this is covered in bug #349625.

<illsci> hey is there a way to theme tomboy?
<illsci> I want to have a black background and white text
<illsci> i can't stand this white background any more
<illsci> i use tomboy a lot btw... thanks for making it
<illsci> :)
<pcutler> hmm, that's a good question, I don't think I've seen that one before
<illsci> i paste in irc conversations I want to reread later on sometimes and its so hard to see the text with a white background
<illsci> i always modify my gnome terminal to do white text on black background and then do the transparency
<illsci> and make it a little darker...
<illsci> i wish i could do that with tomboy

I'm planning to add theming capabilities in a future release.

For now, you would have to modify your gtk+ theme, which you can do on a per-app basis (ask somebody else how to do that).
