Description Nick B 2009-05-17 05:40:49 UTC
O/S - Archlinux
file-roller - 2.26.1
p7zip - 4.65
xfce 4.6
no login manager

Using file-roller in an XFCE4 environtment to extract 7zip archives with passwords will freeze X. Only CTRL-ALT-BKSP will allow any resolution to the hang. RAR and zip files with passwords extract fine.

But... after installing and starting GDM and logging in through GDM, password protected 7zip archives will extract normally.

Archlinux dependencies for GDM is just zenity. Uninstalling GDM and installing zenity by itself does not cure the initial error, somehow its tied to GDM.
