GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580578
Nautilus bookmark name is (unwantedly) automatically changed
Last modified: 2009-05-19 10:28:28 UTC
When editing a bookmark in nautilus, the name of the book mark is unwantedly changed back to a automatically generated name. This is a great feature when first creating a bookmark, but is very annoying when editing bookmarks at a later time because the name of the bookmark keeps getting changed. Other information: Practical example: 1. Create bookmark (Bookmarks->Add Bookmark) at sftp://root@152.96.233.128/var/mobile/Media ---> creates bookmark called "Media" 2. Edit bookmark name (Bookmarks->Edit Bookmarks...->"Media") to "iPhone" 3. Edit bookmark location (Bookmarks->Edit Bookmarks...->"iPhone") to sftp://root@192.168.1.1/var/mobile/Media ---> side-effect: name is changed back to "Media". My solution: only automatically generate a bookmark name when the name has not been manually changed. This would mean adding a flag along the lines of bookmarkNameAutomaticallyGenerated = true|false. Kind regards, Dan Krusi
