GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 580541
Make commands specified in "Open With" tab via "Use a custom command" editable
Last modified: 2009-04-28 12:20:00 UTC
Currently one may add an application to the list in the "Open With" tab of the File Properties dialog by specifying a "custom command". Such commands might be long/have many arguments. One might create multiple variations of a given program, such as mplayer, each with different flags (fullscreen, subtitle options, hardware acceleration, etc.). 1) It is not possible to view the originally specified command-line string for these custom entries. 2) One may wish to simply tweak an existing custom command, rather than following a sequence of clicking "Remove", "Add", and recreating the custom command from scratch. An "Edit" button would be useful for this "Open With" tab of the File Properties dialog.
Agreed; marking as a duplicate of bug 555487, which is pretty much the same. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 555487 ***
