GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 579882
Make the curtain when rightclicking on links more logical
Last modified: 2009-05-20 19:50:22 UTC
Epiphany with webkit offer a option through gconf to open new windows in tab instead of a new window. This feature is great BUT, it may cause some confusion for users, when you right click on a link, you normally get these options: Open Link Open Link in New Window .... This variates from site to site AFAIK, but when you for example at 4chan.org right click on a link and click on "Open Link", it opens in a new tab, if you click on "Open Link in New Window" it opens the link in a tab. I think it would be more logical to remove the "Open Link" option, put the "Open Link in New Window" at the top of the list, when add a new option "Open Link in New Tab" and whatever the option is specified in gconf, and you click at "Open Link in New Tab" it opens in a new tab, if you click on "Open Link in New Window" it opens in a new window. So the user can expect the option he chooses to actually do the thing he choosed, when clicking on a link it opens in a new tab as specified in gconf. Other information:
