Description romkyns 2009-04-11 09:46:25 UTC
When I enter a completely new transaction between accounts in different currencies, I get a window requesting me to enter the exchange rate. This is good.

When I subsequently use tab completion to enter the same transaction again, I am not asked to enter an exchange rate, and the old one is copied. This is inconvenient.

The problem is magnified when entering a large number of repeated transactions for a date other than today, because the extra manual step required to fix up the exchange rate is made harder by having to go find the new transaction first.

Hence, could the tab completion be made to not copy the exchange rate please?

I think this might be the same as bug 106671 (read toward the bottom).

As a workaround, when entering the same transaction again you should be able to right-click and pick "edit exchange rate" before saving the transaction. Then you won't have to go find it after you enter it.
