Adding a non-editable combobox in Plugin Preferences View column (6.47 KB, patch)

none Details | Review

Description Vincent Untz 2009-03-04 16:11:09 UTC
(smoketesting 2.25.92)

Open the pref dialog. First tab, plugins.
See that there's a view column (and wonder what it means).
Click on one of the view cell and see that you can edit it. Click outside of it without editing it.
See that the plugin tab moved in a new window without any reason.

Btw, it's weird that you can edit the view column. I'd just remove it or make it a combo, but right now, it's just confusing that you can put some random stuff there.

We actually went back and fourth on that, it used to be an editable combo box, then a non editable one, and now it is editable again!

We will review this for the next cycle and make appropriate changes.

Bug confirmed.
Comment 3 Javier Hernández 2011-07-14 12:40:03 UTC
Yeah!

This is annoying, so, by adding a non-editable combobox with existent pluginviews list, could be ok as Eitan suggested.

Regards!

Ok, I'll work on that then. ;)

Adding a non-editable combobox in Plugin Preferences View column

This is my proposed solution for this bug. It uses a non-editable combobox with the current plugin views list, as you suggested.

I also followed a suggestion given by Joanie and removed the dialog that allowed an user to name a new view. Now, things are much less bureaucratic: clicking on "New View" simply creates a new one.

Testing this solution would be much appreciated. =D
