Description Cosimo Cecchi 2009-02-24 10:28:34 UTC
This is needed, for instance, when you unmount a volume and there's a thumbnail operation on a file inside that volume (nautilus bug #322828).

hmm, I think we could provide a new async and cancellable API so that nautilus doesn't need to use a thread for thumbnailers. Once bug #638172 is fixed, gnome-desktop-thumbnailer will only depend on glib and gdk-pixbuf so it could be even moved to GTK+.

bug #638172 has been fixed. Cosimo, interested in moving this to GTK+?

We're discussing the API in bug 684026, in order to move it to gdk-pixbuf eventually.
