metacity should play the bell sound from the sound theme instead of the dreaded system bell provided by the X server. It is somewhat disappointing to have a nice UI for picking your favourite alert sound in the sound capplet, only to be greeted by that dreaded bell sound again the next time something rings the bell.

I'll probably try to come up with a patch in the next few days. Gotta refresh my XKB knowledge first...

Sounds great to me.  If there's no bell sound defined, will libcanberra fall back to the system bell instead?
