Description emmeran 2009-01-23 01:01:29 UTC
I really really miss that I can't just enter the password of an ftp account in its URL. I have to handle an excessive amount of ftp accounts and would really like to be able to save them with passwords in the URL in my bookmarks so I don't have to look up the passwords each time I need to access one of the accounts.
I don't know if that is maybe a misconfiguration, but I cant store the passwords in the keyring either. At least I'm not asked if I'd like to.
In an earlier version of gnome some weeks ago it was possible to save to the keyring, but not out of gedit or similar programs but only of nautilus.

Maybe one could make a setting where the user can activate password-in-url-functionality.

I tried to patch this myself but I wasn't able to locate the problem.

Thx,
Emmeran
