Description Christian Knappke 2009-01-19 11:16:10 UTC
Several GTK applications die before presenting any GUI element because of a division by zero exception (c000008e) in icm32.dll.

I tried GIMP portable 2.6.3, GNU Cash portable 2.2.8 with GTK 2.12.8 and gtk-demo.exe.

It happens on both of my computers, a Lenovo T61 with Win XP SP2 (English) and a no-name PC with Win XP SP2 (German).

With older versions of GIMP the same issue happened but it could be magically healed by running Google's Picasa before starting GIMP (no kidding! Just starting and stopping Picasa was enough).

There was an entry on a mailing list that describes a similar or the same issue: http://lists-archives.org/gtk/06423-all-gtk-builds-newer-than-2-10-9-crash-on-win32.html

I have the _appcompat.txt, a drwtsn32.log and a user.dmp ready to submit. Just drop a line.

Regards
Christian

Surely a duplicate of bug #316645 . Especially see comment fourteen in that bug: http://bugzilla.gnome.org/show_bug.cgi?id=316645#c14 .

I.e. there isn't really much GTK+ can do. The problem is caused by other software.

Hmm, I have searched the archive and no other entry popped up ...

Thank you for the fast update. In fact, I have a virtual desktop manager running (JS Pager) and it helps to stop it.
