GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 567584
Presence chooser is monstrously ugly and annoying
Last modified: 2009-02-02 12:49:16 UTC
When the Empathy contact list is a reasonable size then the presence chooser combobox (it looks more like a menu though, hmm) doesn't expand in width. This results in a hideous widget. It's also really annoying to use because if you press the widget in the very right you have to move the mouse all the way to the left to actually change presence. Pidgin does this right.
Created attachment 126344 [details] An example Here's a screenshot I just took of it failing.
EmpathyPresenceChooser is a GtkToggleButton, that will display a popup menu when active; I wonder why it was done this way.
This comes from Gossip. I think the reason is because it is the same GtkMenu than in the status icon's context menu. I agree that could be changed.
I'm on the case!
Let's close this as dup of bug #569449, where the work is being done. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 569449 ***
