GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565751
Gweather applet does not function after system restart or reboot.
Last modified: 2009-05-30 07:04:05 UTC
Please describe the problem: Installed Fedora 10 several times. Activate the gweather applet and it functions properly. However, after a restart / reboot, it never gets beyond the "updating" phase. Steps to reproduce: 1. Add weather applet to panel 2. Select location 3. Applet functions normally 4. Restart / reboot computer 5. Applet goes no further than indicating it's updating 6. Remove applet 7. Re-add applet and process repeats itself Actual results: Applet stays in continual "updating" mode until removed and then added again Expected results: I would expect the "updating" would actually update weather information. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Have reinstalled OS (Fedora 10), restarted, rebooted, disabled weather and temperature display in the clock applet (which do not display weather or temperature data anyway, but thinking there may have been some sort of conflict with both weather and clock data trying to display weather data simultaneously). Have changed update times from default 30 minutes to 5 and 10 minutes with no difference in outcome. Have tried SELINUX settings at enabled and permissive with same problem resulting. Have yet to try SELINUX disabled. Computer is a Dell 600m.
This is a bug in our network detection code that should now be fixed. I'm marking this as a duplicate of 579098. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 579098 ***
