GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 565464
Layer content is lost on clipping
Last modified: 2008-12-23 14:52:18 UTC
Please describe the problem: Using the rotate tool with "Crap to result" clipping option, or using the shear tool with "Crop with aspect" clipping makes the modified layer lose it's content. Steps to reproduce: 1. Open existing image (JPEG) 2. Select the rotate tool 3. Change the clipping option from "Adjust" to "Crop to result" 4. Click and drag the image 5. Press the button labeled "Rotate" on the pop-up window Actual results: The image is lost, the size of canvas is not modified, and there's only a huge transparent area. Expected results: A longer process to complete this step (at least at Lanczos3 Interpolation), and a similar effect as the one made by the simple rotation, with different edges. Does this happen every time? Yes Other information: Maybe it's not a critical error, but there's a huge data loss. Undo (Ctrl+Z) still works, it brings the image back. This operation can be done by two simple steps, rotation with "Adjust" clipping and cropping the result. I don't ask for this option to be repaired, but at least to be disabled.
