It's unnecessarily cumbersome to open the file properties dialog to see basic file metadata.  Would like to see a small popup on hover that has:
* full name of the file
* file size
* last modified date

Modified date is very important to me when coding.  It wouldn't hurt my feelings if someone wanted the created date in there, but for me that's not something I use.

The statusbar has two of these but obviously it not available to the Desktop.
