Comment 2 Sven Neumann 2008-11-03 21:19:12 UTC
I think many of these strings need to be improved before they can be marked for translation.

"Foreground Palette Color Set" should become "Set Foreground Palette Color",
"Foreground Palette Color First" should be "First Foreground Palette Color" and so on. Many strings already use this style, but should be used consistently.
Comment 3 Michael Natterer 2008-11-04 08:20:45 UTC
The strings are named like that so the actions appear next to each
other in the dialog. There is no way they can be scattered across
the list. The other option would be to sort the list by action names
(not action labels).
Comment 4 Sven Neumann 2008-11-04 21:26:40 UTC
We definitely need to do that if we want the strings to be translatable. We can't ask the translators to take care of the sort order.
Comment 5 Alexandre Prokoudine 2008-11-11 15:05:09 UTC
So, what's the final decision? Rename?
Comment 6 Martin Nordholts 2009-08-02 11:17:45 UTC
We need a patch that sorts the labels based on the action names, not the labels.
Comment 7 Alexandre Prokoudine 2010-01-15 23:57:40 UTC
Um, I'm looking at keyboard shortcuts dialog and actions are already alphabetically sorted by action name (the right column).
Comment 8 Martin Nordholts 2010-02-17 06:59:25 UTC
We won't have time to do this for 2.8 unless we get help from the outside so I'm putting this off the milestone.
