Description Matthias Clasen 2008-10-08 18:44:09 UTC
Recent xkeyboard-config versions have a bug that makes combinations like alt-alt or ctrl-ctrl not work.

I'll attach a patch that changes the default combination to shift-capslock

Shift-Caps would win the price for most non-obvious combination. Well, I am not insisting on alt-alt, but I'd prefer something else... In the worst case, we can use (like in MSWin) Alt-Shift, but it is so Microsoftish...
Comment 3 Matthias Clasen 2008-11-09 18:38:44 UTC
I don't care what is chosen. But we should choose something that works.
Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2010-03-10 12:00:42 UTC
Sergey, we've shipped that patch for more than a year and a half in Fedora, could we have closure on this bug?
Comment 5 Sergey V. Udaltsov 2010-03-11 21:32:29 UTC
Bastien, is there any explanation, why do you prefer to have Shift+Caps (as I said, quite non-obvious)?

Matthias made the change, not me. But the point is that Alt+Alt doesn't work. Anything that work would be better than the current default.

ok. You convinced me.
fixed in libgnomekbd (there is a shared function now)
