GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 554590
Certain song won't play with crossfade backend on
Last modified: 2008-10-01 22:26:12 UTC
I was listening to an album in Rhythmbox (without shuffle), with the crossfade backend on, set to 0.1 seconds, just to make it play gaplessly. For some reason, one of the songs ("Heimdalsgate Like a Promethean Curse" by of Montreal) didn't play. It was ripped with the default settings (ogg -q5). I re-ripped the album, but the problem persisted. Then I turned off the crossfade backend, restarted Rhythmbox, and it worked. It doesn't matter if I play it individually or as part of an album; with the crossfade backend on, it just will not play no matter what I do. I have had this problem with a couple of ogg files and a couple of mp3 files; the ogg files were ripped from CD, but not the mp3 files. This is in Rhythmbox 0.11.5 on Ubuntu 8.04.1.
Created attachment 119731 [details] Debug log This is a log of me playing the song "Did You See the Words" by Animal Collective, fast forwarding to the end, expecting to have the next song "Grass" playing, which it doesn't. Then I doubleclick on "Grass", which also does not make it play. Then I doubleclick on the song after it, "Flesh Canoe", which starts playing, and I pause it directly afterwards.
