Take an image resize it to 16x16 (recommended ico file size). Store it as .ico and store it 4bpp. The created file is corrupted.

I see this on powerpc linux.

Judging from comments in the original bug report, this is only a problem on PowerPC architectures.

This particular bug has already been reported into our bug tracking system, but we are happy to tell you that the problem has already been fixed. It should be solved in the next software version. You may want to check for a software upgrade.
