GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 553180
Two songs playing at the same time
Last modified: 2008-09-21 23:15:32 UTC
Please describe the problem: Sometimes two songs will start playing at the same time. One song's title is shown, the slider does not move and two songs are playing. There doesn't really seem to be a way to trigger this, it looks like a race condition problem. One funny thing is that even if you skip to another song, the same background song will keep playing. Only closing rhythmbox will stop both songs. Steps to reproduce: 1. Play allot of songs, with shuffle and repeat enabled. 2. Wait for it. 3. Wait for it... Actual results: Sometimes, at un-reproducable moments but around once every week or so, two songs will start playing at exactly the same time. Expected results: Everything should just go along without a problem and if two threads with two songs start, then some kind of assertion should be triggered. Does this happen every time? I think it might be something with the timer and running rhythmbox on 64 bit. Can't find any real reason yet. Other information: This bug occurred on Ubuntu Itrepid, Rhythmbox 0.11.6 and playing only Ogg Vorbis music files. Most of the music files where 96kbps, others 112kbps but all are variable bitrate files (which might be a problem for detecting the end of a file by progress time only)
