GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 552017
"Stop when finished" option should be associated with the Pause button
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:34:33 UTC
It would be nice to have a "stop playing after finishing the current song" feature. Perhaps a (slightly hidden) context menu on the pause button is a good place for this. (It doesn't have to be very user-visible.)
I think the feature you want is already implemented : there's a "Stop when finished" checkbox in the Playback. The following discussion has different ideas about UI changes related to this : http://www.nabble.com/playback-changes-tt19005237.html
Ha! You're totally right. However, shift-click on the pause button should do the same imho.
If you don't mind, I'm changing the summary to reflect your suggestion. But I think I prefer Gabriel's suggestion linked above : have the "Stop when finished" option in the Next button menu.
It would be very nice to also have this option available per song. Meaning that it would also be possible to stop playing after finishing a future song in your queue/playlist/library. Maybe it's a good idea to add it to the right-click context menu of a song? A feature like this would be VERY welcome!
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again.
