I think ssh keys should also have the ability to be automatically cleared.

The steps to reproduce are:

1- enable ssh keys in seahorse
2- connect to a host using a key (localhost is fine)
3- wait for the lock icon to disappear from the panel (it doesn't - ever)

This functionality is from gnome-keyring. Moving.

The solution might be to make gnome-keyring pay attention to the same gconf key as seahorse-agent.
