GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 550219
File System Queue: please rename the sidebar entry
Last modified: 2020-03-17 08:19:31 UTC
Right now if you use banshee to open a file not in your db, you'll see this new sidebar entry called "File System Queue". Now, at first sight it's pretty obvious what is it for, for /us/. If possible, it would be good to find it a more "simple" name, that won't sound so weird for my grandma.
What steps do you take to open that file not in your DB?
(In reply to comment #1) > What steps do you take to open that file not in your DB? > If you download a song from the Internet (for example) and double click that file before importing it to your library, it is opened in Banshee's File System Queue. And I would agree that there should be some better name for this sidebar item - while descriptive, it may be a bit more technical than it needs to be.
Has anyone found a better name yet? The extensions name has changed to "File System Preview Queue" now, but that's even longer. What about just "Preview", "File Preview", "Non-Library Tracks" or "External Tracks"?
Banshee is not under active development anymore and had its last code changes more than three years ago. Its codebase has been archived. Closing this report as WONTFIX as part of Bugzilla Housekeeping to reflect reality. Please feel free to reopen this ticket (or rather transfer the project to GNOME Gitlab, as GNOME Bugzilla is being shut down) if anyone takes the responsibility for active development again. See https://gitlab.gnome.org/Infrastructure/Infrastructure/issues/264 for more info.
