Description Sami Haahtinen 2008-08-26 16:45:51 UTC
Please describe the problem:
The window title in gnome-terminal doesn't respect the LC_MESSAGES variable while the rest of the text in gnome-terminal does.

Steps to reproduce:
This can easily be reproduced by setting the following:

LANG=fi_FI.UTF_8
LC_MESSAGES=en_US.UTF-8

and by running something that doesn't change the window title. My zsh setup does change it so i tested by running a single application within: gnome-terminal -e alsamixer

Actual results:
The window title reads 'Pääte', which is the finnish translation for Terminal

Expected results:
The window title should read Terminal or what ever the corrent translation for the locale set with LC_MESSAGES

Does this happen every time?
yes

You can change the terminal title by choosing Edit, Current profile, Title&Command tab. The title is initialised from the current locale when the profile is created, but it is not changing when you change the locale later on.
