I would love to have a plugin which allows you to cache the whole movie into memory. Not only because today's computers have enough memory for it but because I want the HD to be able to spin down when I'm watching a movie on my laptop.

I tried to find a way of writing a plugin for this, but couldn't figure out how to do this. The plugin is probably very simple because you only need to add a gstreamer buffer or another kind of buffer.

I would love to have a plugin which adds a configurable cache size to totem or a button which will cache the file to memory when I click it.

This comes for free when we'll port Totem to playbin2.
