Description Sebastien Bacher 2008-08-01 09:15:58 UTC
the bug has been described on https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/nautilus/+bug/242487

"When I plug in a removable media drive (USB-stick, SD-card, CD/DVD, etc) the icon appears on the desktop.
On some (most) occassions the new icon is placed on a spot that is already inhabited resulting in it being covered by another icon making it hard or impossible to find!

I am running Ubuntu 8.04"

I can confirm that mount icons are often placed over other icons in nautilus 2.22 and 2.23, that happens on first login after boot too, the system mounts are often misplaced, realligning those before logout doesn't make a difference

I hope to have fixed all overlapping icon issues in trunk:

Closing.
