GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 545406
Syncing Evolution with Google Calendar via CalDAV fails
Last modified: 2009-06-04 14:21:12 UTC
Please describe the problem: A couple of days ago Google introduced the possibility to sync a calendar with Google Calendar via the CalDAV protocol. You'll find infos under http://www.google.com/support/calendar/bin/answer.py?answer=99358 or at http://lifehacker.com/399407/how-to-sync-any-desktop-calendar-with-google-calendar http://lifehacker.com/399366/google-calendar-adds-caldav-support-enabling-ical-sync I'm trying now to sync Evolution with Google Calendar. I create a new calendar, choose "CalDAV" as type and enter https://www.google.com/calendar/dav/my.name@gmail.com/user as URL. As username I enter my Google Mail email address (e.g. my.name@gmail.com). After I saved the settings and closed the dialog i enter my Google Mail password. But it looks like it get's rejected. The check box in front of the new CalDAV calendar is still empty. When i look into the properties of my CalDAV calendar i see that * the URL has been altered to caldav://www.google.com/calendar/dav/my.name@gmail.com/user * my username has been cut to my.name It looks like it is not possible to sync Evolution with Google Calendar via CalDAV at this moment. Steps to reproduce: 1. Create new calendar with CalDAV as type 2. Enter your Google Mail Account settings 3. Try to sync Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Sounds very similar to bug #503662, could you check whether it's the same issue, please? I guess it is, because you are using an '@' at your user name.
