Testcase: Enter 11+22+33+... until a horizontal scrollbar appears.
Now press =.

Expected result: output area showing the result of the addition
Actual result: empty output area. Only after resizing the window it becomes visible.

Known problem. Robert has already fixed it for gcalctool v5.23.4
which you can download in source form from:

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gcalctool/5.23/
