Description bogdan 2008-07-17 05:09:32 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When you have a playlist with an item selected if you begin to type a string on your keyboard it will match that string to song titles in the playlist and select the closest match. Unfortunately, almost nobody organizes their playlists by song title (most choose artist or album) making this feature completely useless to almost all your users. As an example for useful functionality take a look at itunes, where if you start typing randomly on the keyboard it will match whatever you type to an album and select the first song on your playlist on that album. Ideally you would be able to match the text to an arbitrary field (artist, album, song title, whatever), but if nothing else it should at least match the functionality of itunes.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Select an item in a playlist
2. type arbitrary text on keyboard
3. observe the change in which playlist item is selected

Actual results:
a song is selected based on the title most closely matching typed text

Expected results:
a song should be selected based on most closely matching album (like itunes)

Does this happen every time?
yes
