Description Josselin Mouette 2008-07-15 11:27:58 UTC
In Debian or Ubuntu, there are many, many games available in the repository. And when users install too many of them, the games menu in GNOME becomes almost unusable.

Split the games menu with an inline_limit

Here is a fix that works nicely, by creating sub-menus for games of some categories only when necessary.

The big caveat of this patch is that you will be hit by bug#490483, meaning the games won’t be sorted anymore and will sometimes be duplicated.

Let's depend on bug 490483.
Comment 3 André Klapper 2021-05-25 12:45:45 UTC
GNOME is going to shut down bugzilla.gnome.org in favor of gitlab.gnome.org.
As part of that, we are mass-closing older open tickets in bugzilla.gnome.org
which have not seen updates for a longer time (resources are unfortunately
quite limited so not every ticket can get handled).

If you can still reproduce the situation described in this ticket in a recent
and supported software version, then please follow
  https://wiki.gnome.org/GettingInTouch/BugReportingGuidelines
and create a new enhancement request ticket at
  https://gitlab.gnome.org/GNOME/gnome-menus/-/issues/

Thank you for your understanding and your help.
