GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 541449
Jamendo and Magnatune svg logos
Last modified: 2018-05-24 13:28:19 UTC
[ From http://bugs.debian.org/481599 by Matthias Krüger ] "It would be nice if the Jamendo and the Magnatune logos would be scalable vector graphics. They would need less disk space and could be scaled if the rhythmbox-window is smaller than the logo."
If magnatune and jamendo provide svg artwork, we can certainly use it. They don't appear to, though.
Perhaps another option could be to create new artwork based on the already existing svg icons (if magnatune and jamendo give their permission of course)?
Created attachment 139506 [details] [review] replace Magnatune logos with svg ones This patch is also available (as 2 separate commits) from git://github.com/AdamZ/rhythmbox-magnatune.git in the svg_logo branch. It replaces the png files used previously with svg files. The patch should be able to just be cat-ed into 'git am'. I'm still getting used to git, so let me know if there's anything that needs fixing or could be done better.
Even with the embedded thumbnail JPEGs removed, the SVG logo is about three times the size of the PNGs it replaces. There doesn't seem to be a way to make the image displayed in the loading screen scale to the size of the window, so this doesn't appear to help much, sadly.
