GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 541373
keeps inserting some unicode character into email once a while when you copy/paste
Last modified: 2013-06-20 16:20:55 UTC
Evoultion keeps inserting some unicode character into email once a while when you copy/paste or similar, which breaks a lot of receivers: bit from an email I just sent: tested it yet though. Note it removes =EF=BB=BFnetif_is_multiqueue(). I thi= when I meant it to go out as plan ascii without any content-encoding (which was required here for the patch to go through properly) Distribution: Debian lenny/sid Gnome Release: 2.22.3 2008-06-30 (Debian) BugBuddy Version: 2.22.0
That is, actually, a byte-order mark. I don't know where it comes from, but I'm sure it shouldn't be sent out.
Might be the same as bug 544661, in case this is still an issue.
Seems likely, EF BB BF is the UTF-8 encoding of the BOM. Note that I still use 2.30 (due to the unbearable GTK 3 default theme) so I can't say if this is still an issue.
I suppose this got fixed by bug #533741, thus I mark this as a duplicate of it (it seems, based on the date, that your version of gtkhtml3 didn't contain the fix from the other bug yet). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of bug 533741 ***
