GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 540796
gnome-themes-extras: gtkrc brocken in Darklooks theme
Last modified: 2013-12-02 11:27:41 UTC
Please describe the problem: Description: /usr/share/themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc, line 4: gtk_color_scheme variable contains wrong identifiers "tooltips_fg_color/tooltips_bg_color". They should be: "tooltip_bg_color /tooltip_bg_color". Additional info: * package version: Arch Linux, extra/gnome-themes-extras 2.22.0-1 * error-message from gtk2_prefs: /usr/share/themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:181: Invalid symbolic color 'tooltip_bg_color' /usr/share/themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc:181: error: invalid identifier `tooltip_bg_color', expected valid identifier Solution: change tooltips_fg_color / tooltips_bg_color to tooltip_bg_color / tooltip_bg_color in line 4 Steps to reproduce: 1. 2. 3. Actual results: Expected results: Does this happen every time? Other information:
looks like it causes xfce gtk-engine to badly react while it is handled gracefully in gnome afaics. See also our downstream bug https://bugs.gentoo.org/show_bug.cgi?id=238138 that has screenshots of before/after when running with xfce.
This is a dupe of 528322 (already fixed in trunk), and a patch can be found in: http://svn.gnome.org/viewvc/gnome-themes-extras/trunk/gtk-themes/Darklooks/gtk-2.0/gtkrc?r1=475&r2=491&view=patch
I had the same errors and made the same changes prior to know this bug. I think the problem now is that there has been no new release of gnome-themes-extras since 2.22 and I now use Gnome 2.26. There are probably other interesting changes in SVN to release.
Closing this as I don't plan to do any work on the themes again.
