GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 540216
Can't print an image correctly on A4 page
Last modified: 2008-10-30 20:14:06 UTC
(I have assumed that GIMP 2.4.6 should work on my Vista Home Premium - according to "http://gimp.org/downloads/" : "(...) Download GIMP 2.4.6 – Installer for Windows 2000 and above"). However I am experiencing a problem with printing. When I try to print image (attachment: 1-test-image.jpg (resolution=4824x6616 px) the printout is zoomed several times. I can't get GIMP to print it correctly. I don't change print settings. The printout contains one page and is zoomed heavily (attachment: 3-printed-A4.jpg (this image scanned after printing) ). Print settigs are included in attachment: 2-settings.jpg and they seems to be correct for A4 page. Sizes are in milimeters. Sory for screenshots in Polish language but I don't know how to set gimp to English. I must add that other programs, including graphics manipulation ones (Paint.NET, Corel Paint Shop Pro) - all print OK (Unfortunately Paint Shop Pro has only 30-days trial). To solve the problem I tried installing GIMP before and after printer-driver setup, also uninstalling GIMP and installing again after computer restart, but it didn't help. My system is Vista Home Premium 32-bit, SP1, patched up-to-date. Printer is HP Photosmart c3180. Printer driver is the most recent from HP website. I attached example .jpg which I cannot print from Gimp (1-test-image.jpg), however I have the same problem with other jpgs in GIMP too. If it helps - my computer has 4GB RAM (3.25 on Vista 32-bit) and does not experience any other problems. GIMP is 2.4.6
