Description Moo 2008-06-18 23:48:07 UTC
Please describe the problem:
When I open a .c or .tex file, it gets syntax highlighted.
However, when I open a .ini file, it does not get syntax highlighted.
To activate it, I have to goto View -> Highlight Mode -> Others -> .ini

Steps to reproduce:
1. Open Nautilus.
2. Double-click on a .ini file.
3. Notice how gedit opens but it is not syntax highlighted.

Actual results:
Gedit opens, displays the file, but it is not syntax highlighted.

Expected results:
I expected gedit to open the file and present it to me with syntax highlighting.

Does this happen every time?
Yes.

Other information:
Comment 1 Paolo Borelli 2008-11-02 15:55:57 UTC
this should be fixed in 2.24 by using gio instead of gnome-vfs
Comment 2 Moo 2010-05-28 10:35:18 UTC
This is only partially fixed.

Syntax highlighting is not applied to .ini files, but not .INI files in uppercase extension.
