Description Joanmarie Diggs (IRC: joanie) 2008-06-15 02:04:28 UTC
Steps to reproduce:

1. Open the (to be) attached presentation in Impress.

2. Tab to each placeholder, press Return to edit it, arrow around the text, and then press Escape to stop editing.

(Orca should and does announce each placeholder that receives focus and the characters/lines arrowed to)

3. Go to the view menu and choose another view (Outline, Notes, Handouts, Slide Sorter).

4. Go back to the view menu and choose normal.

5. Repeat step 2

Expected results: Orca would continue to announce each placeholder that receives focus and the characters/lines arrowed to

Actual results: Orca is silent.

Orca debug output generated whilst testing this problem.

After returning to Normal mode (from Slide Sorter mode), we are getting
no accessibility events from OOo Impress. This might be a variation on
the last bug, but I'll file YAOOOB.

I've opened OOo issue #90787
http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=90787
against this problem, and blocked this one.

(It also looks like that might be a duplicate of 90786).

Just an update: I tried the following steps using OODEV300_m27 build 9336 on my
OpenSolaris box. After returning to Normal mode (from Outline mode), we are getting no accessibility events from OOo Impress.

http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=79706 has been closed as a means to track an internal bug which apparently has been fixed, but I don't think it's been fixed. I'll follow up with the OOo folks.

The OOo team reclosed the bug as WORKSFORME, so I'm unblocking this bug and marking it as [to verify].

Verified using OOo 3.3 dev snapshot m75 in OpenSolaris build 134.

Closing as NOTGNOME.
