Thanks for taking the time to report this bug.
Unfortunately, that stack trace is missing some elements that will help a lot to solve the problem, so it will be hard for the developers to fix that crash. Can you get us a stack trace with debugging symbols? Please see http://live.gnome.org/GettingTraces for more information on how to do so and reopen this bug or report a new one. Thanks in advance!
Comment 2 Gerald V. Livingston II 2008-05-17 17:29:41 UTC
Added the -dbg info. Took a while to get it to crash again. I think this may be similar to 522534 except it is much more "resistant" to crashing now and doesn't appear to require the existence of a malformed 'thumbs.db' file.

The first crash happened when I opened an VERY LARGE smb:// folder. After I had moved the complete folder to a local drive it opened fine.

After installing the debugging symbols I tried to make it crash again and had to traverse several smb:// folders to make it happen.

I do not see *ANY* commonalities between the two folders that caused it to crash. The second is quite small (only about 10 files) and none of the files are duplicates of what was in the other folder.

Crash output from bug-buddy:
