Description Ethan Anderson 2008-05-14 23:48:35 UTC
Window list entries should be able to include, at the users option,

-window icons
-window titles
-window close buttons

These should be added to the window list applet's preferences in the form of three check boxes. Preferences should not be saved unless at least one of said boxes is checked.

Make that one of either the window icon or window title checked. A bunch of entries with naught but close buttons would be worthless.

Although I am not able to submit any patches or code, I am quite sure this feature isn't that hard to implement. I agree fully with Ethan -- he's described the feature very, very well, that's all we need.

As this would probably not take a lot of time, could somebody take care of it? Thanks in advance,

I forgot I filed this.

I now use window-picker-applet by Canonical on Ubuntu, and the system dock on Mac OS X. Window-picker-applet is designed for netbooks, and as such, the developers constrain it in various odd ways that may keep it from ever truly maturing as a panel applet. If this feature was implemented in the normal window list applet, I would be ecstatic.
