Description Adrian Cristinici 2008-05-11 16:34:43 UTC
Please describe the problem:
No cells formatting preserved while exporting (saving) as MS Excel 2007. No cell border formatting, no color text (foreground) in the cell or background color, nor cell comment.... not even text formatting....

Steps to reproduce:
1. open gnumeric
2. enter some texts in some cells
3. format the fonts/size/color/border
4. save as... Microsoft Excel 2007 tm (.xlsx)
5. close the gnumeric, then open the saved document.

Actual results:
1-4 - everything is ok
5 - opening the file, there is NO formatting anymore

Expected results:
5 - the formatting should be preserved

Does this happen every time?
yes

Did you try importing your xlsx into Excel 2007 instead of back in with gnumeric?
Comment 4 Jody Goldberg 2008-09-27 02:06:09 UTC
style export is not written yet.
It would make a good project.

We are now exporting number (date, time,...) formats. These were requested in the bugs marked as duplicates. We are also exporting cell alignment and cell background colours & patterns.
Comment 8 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-06-15 20:24:58 UTC
We are now also exporting font name, size, color, bold, etc.
Comment 9 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-06-15 20:56:08 UTC
As far as I can tell cell comments are read and written just fine. It looks like Jean implemented them last October.
Comment 10 Andreas J. Guelzow 2011-06-16 05:10:52 UTC
All the formatting explicitly mention in this bug report are now exported. Of course there may be some other formatting that has been missed. If yu discover such as issue please file separate bug reports for each item.

This problem has been fixed in the development version. The fix will be available in the next major software release. Thank you for your bug report.

These exports are in current git and will be in release 1.10.16.
