GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 532115
Volume control screen edge effect
Last modified: 2008-05-08 09:06:45 UTC
Please describe the problem: Clicking on the volume button brings up a slider positioned so that the pointer is at the current volume. But if the window is too close to the top or bottom of the screen, the slider pops up too high or too low, thus changing the volume without moving the pointer. My volume was turned off completely. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start totem 2. Move the window to the edge of the screen 3. Open an audio or video file to play 4. Click on the audio button Actual results: The volume is lowered immediately. Expected results: The volume should not be changed if I have not moved the pointer. Does this happen every time? Yes. Other information: Either (1) the pointer should be moved to be at the correct place in the slider temporarily until the slider hides, or (2) the slider should pop up partly off-screen and scroll up as the pointer is dragged to the edge of the screen, or (3) the volume should not be immediately adjusted when the slider pops up, only when the pointer is dragged or clicked on the slider. If this is a GTK+ problem, let me know how to repost it.
