Description Vincent Untz 2008-05-07 15:24:29 UTC
It'd be really nice to have cheese install a small program that would be started on login that checks if there's a working webcam and if the user has no photo in About Me (it's the .face file, iirc). In this case, this small program could propose the user to take a photo and install it as .face.

The idea was, to make cheese able to interact with other applications over dbus! What you suggest is nothing other than a reminder to set the gdm-user-picture?
Comment 2 Vincent Untz 2008-05-08 07:17:08 UTC
Felix: that's more or less the idea.
Comment 3 Bastien Nocera 2008-05-15 23:52:52 UTC
I think providing a widget usable by other applications would be a better idea. It could be used in an equivalent to about-me, or any other user account management tool.
Comment 4 Bastien Nocera 2008-06-09 14:47:40 UTC
I hope the bug isn't actually about providing an autostart program that would set the user's face...
Comment 5 Filippo Argiolas 2010-02-23 10:36:52 UTC
Fixed with CheeseAvatarChooser and the new accounts-dialog.
