GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 531109
Show account name and full folder path in error messages
Last modified: 2015-08-10 12:57:54 UTC
The status bar notes are really useless as is. Currently, the user is getting a warning note in the status bar, reading "Error while Refreshing folder.". Clicking the warning icon, one expects *details*, but gets something like this: Error while Refreshing folder. Connection reset by peer So which one of my 6 currently active IMAP accounts is this talking about? Without any details, at the very least mentioning the affected IMAP account if there are multiple, these notes are just useless. And eventually will become slightly annoying... Please add more details.

This had been partly addressed during the time, but there still left certain places, thus I fixed it there too. This touches only error messages, as generated on the evolution side. I would not change status messages anyway, because for example the IMAPx accounts have quite long status messages already, without the account name or the full path. Some parts of the code can use the status messages as part of the error messages, where this change makes it unchanged, but with what I tried the most common operations like Send/Receive or periodical account updates identify the account and the folders with full path.
