GNOME Bugzilla – Bug 529509
OOo about dialog is not accessible at all
Last modified: 2008-07-14 18:22:58 UTC
Please describe the problem: When opening the about dialog on Open Office it's report the version about Open Office etc but this information can not be accessed with Orca neither flat review or focus tracking mode. Steps to reproduce: 1. Start Orca screen reader. 2. Start OpenOffice writer. 3. Goto help menu, and select about OpenOffice.org Actual results: Can not see about information. Expected results: Orca should read this dialog e.g like an alert dialog. Does this happen every time? Yes :( Other information: The same occur with the dialog asking you to save or discard the document.
I forgot to mention that I am using OpenOfice.org 2.4.0
Yup, it's totally inaccessible (or has a broken accessible hierarchy). Looking at the OOo About dialog with accerciser, it says it has one child; the OK button. I'll file YAOOB (yet another Open Office bug).
OOo issue #88667 http://www.openoffice.org/issues/show_bug.cgi?id=88667 has been opened against this problem. Blocking this one.
Note that this problem was nicely fixed in a version of OOo 3.0 (beta) that I tested (not publically available yet). Therefore I'm unblocking it, and will close it when I can test it (and get the same results) against a publically available version of OOo 3.0 (beta).
Just waiting on a public version of OOo 3.X to be made available with this fix in. To get this out of my face when looking for bugs to still work on, I'm adding a new "[to confirm]" preface to the summary line for now.
I have just confirmed that we now announce the contents of the about dialog when it first appears and can also use flat review to access the text. This is with OOo dev 3.0 m24(build:9329). Closing this bug as NOTGNOME.
