"gnome-terminal --tab-with-profile=test_file" command has no function.
Last modified: 2008-05-31 12:35:07 UTC
Please describe the problem: When you execute "gnome-terminal --tab-with-profile=test_profile" command in terminal,a new tab in sub window can not be opened. Steps to reproduce: 1.Open a terminal window. 2.Create a new profile for example test_profile. 3.Select "Terminal"->"Change Profile" -> "test_profile". 3.Run "gnome-terminal --tab-with-profile=test_file" command in terminal. Actual results: A new window is opened with the selected profile. Expected results: A new tab sub window in the gnome terminal opened with the selected profile. Does this happen every time? Every time this happens. Other information:

I do not believe this is a dupe of 412063, which is invalid. I can confirm this bug with gnome-terminal 2.22.1 on Ubuntu 8.04. According to gnome-terminal --help: --tab-with-profile=PROFILENAME Open a new tab in the last-opened window with the given profile. Actual results are that a new window is opened, so basically it works identically to --window-with-profile=PROFILENAME when only used once. Using it multiple times does indeed create new tabs in the newly opened window. The man page description leaves out a few key words: Open a tab in the window with the given profile. So perhaps the intended function has changed and just the descriptions need to be updated? Personally I hope not, as it seems like a useful feature to have.
